What is bridal boudoir photography?
Bridal boudoir photography is an intimate portrait session a bride books before her wedding, photographed in lingerie, bridal undergarments, her veil or the wedding dress itself, and often given to her partner on the wedding day. Sweet Plum Boudoir photographs brides at our private, natural-light studio in Tampa, Florida, serving Tampa, Hillsborough County and all of Florida.
Brides book it for four reasons, in Patty's words: it makes you feel empowered before you walk down the aisle; it makes a gift your partner will still be looking at in 15, 30 or 50 years; it is the perfect excuse to go lingerie shopping for the wedding night and honeymoon before the last-minute panic; and it makes you comfortable in front of a camera before your wedding photographer ever lifts one.
Some people call it bride boudoir, wedding boudoir or pre-wedding boudoir. It is the same session, and the experience is the one every Sweet Plum client gets: a consultation, hair and makeup, wardrobe help, guided posing and a private reveal.

ABOUT BRIDAL BOUDOIR
Bridal Boudoir Ideas
The looks on this page are the ones brides ask for most: the wedding dress unzipped on a white bed, the veil as the only thing you wear, the veil backlit at the window in black and white, a white lace robe and a laugh at the window, pearls and a "Bride" necklace with white lace, and your ring in the frame. Our team recommends poses and expressions on the day, so you'll never be left wondering what to do or how to pose.
Lingerie, bridal undergarments or your wedding dress itself, whichever makes you feel confident. Bring the veil, the garter, your jewelry and any heirloom or sentimental piece you'd like in the photos. Well-fitting pieces flatter most, so you'll receive a detailed buying guide before the session, and you can use pieces from our collection on the day. For more inspiration, see our boudoir outfit ideas, what to wear if lingerie isn't for you and tips to feel confident in lingerie.
A bridal boudoir album, handed over the morning of the wedding, is the reason most brides book. Your partner thinks you're beautiful first thing in the morning with unbrushed hair and an oversized t-shirt; this shows them the other side. We offer prints, albums and digital formats, chosen at your reveal and ordering appointment. For packaging and presentation ideas, see how to gift boudoir photos in style; if you'd like to print something this private yourself, where to print boudoir photos walks through the options.

At least two to three months before the wedding. Finished prints and albums take two to six weeks after your session, and you'll want the album in hand before the wedding morning. Tell us your date on the consultation and we'll work backwards from it.
-
Yes. They're three names for the same session: an intimate portrait session before the wedding, usually gifted to your partner on the day.

Yes. Several of the photographs on this page were made in the bride's own dress.
-
Yes, and it's the reason most brides book. An album handed over the morning of the wedding, or a framed print or private gallery, is a gift your partner will still be looking at decades from now.
-
Yes, if you're comfortable with it. Some brides add a few implied-nude or veil-only frames at the end of the session. It's an option, never an expectation.
-
Your photographs stay private. We completely understand and respect the need to keep boudoir photos private, and images are only used with written permission from the client.
-
Yes. Every body is welcome, and posing guidance is built around how you feel on the day. Our plus-size boudoir page shows what that looks like.
-
If you'd like a session for the two of you, see our couples boudoir photography. A bridal session is usually a surprise, so most brides keep it solo.
